This should be in a Collins glass, but I wanted an excuse to buy a Corsair pint glass.

I got a calendar reminder this afternoon that I should be on my way to Corsair Artisan Distillery for a cocktail class this evening, so I chose an old favorite from their menu, the Whiskey Ginger.

Grab a tall glass, a pint glass is wrong, but I’m having Corsair withdrawal. Pop in some ice and two ounces of whiskey, I went with Corsair Triple Smoke, three drops of Japanese chili lime bitters, top with a high quality ginger beer or ginger ale, I had Blenheim Hot Ginger Ale, and finish with a healthy squeeze of lime. Stir lightly and garnish. Normally, I’d use some rosemary, but I already had a fresh cut lime and the rosemary is outside in the front garden. The best part of this drink, for me, comes next. Take a strip of cedar paper and set it afire, gaze longingly into the flame for a moment before plunging it into the drink. Savor the sweet aroma of cedar smoke and take a long drink thinking of friends and better times to come. Stay home, stay safe, stay hydrated and stay sane.
